I am sorry, but this is not a crisis of newspapers, journalists, newsrooms, Internet or managers.

It's a city crisis.

8 percent job cuts is a frecking joke. Until when? March, when the eliminate another 8 percent, and June when they eliminate another 8 percent. C'mon. This is laughable. These joint operating agreements are a disaster. MediaNews will slash and burn quicker than anyone, and Gannett is slowly catching up. The 3-day delivery plan will be dead within a year and both these papers will be online only or will just fold. Say good night. Do you think these two companies will emply 2,000 people with 3-days of publishing?
