The New York Times Co. will close its regional distribution center in January and outsource the business to a third party. The move will eliminate 550 jobs. TheĀ Times’ City & Suburban center delivered The New York Times and aboutĀ 200 other newspapers and magazines to outlets in the New York metropolitan area. Laid-workers will be offered a severance package.
